How to Make Money on the Internet

There is a LOT of money to be made on the Internet.  That's pretty obvious with the value of sites like Amazon, Google, Facebook, and eBay, but how does the normal person get their own share of the online money-making pie?  The simplest and easiest way to do that is to find a topic that you are interested in and then create a blog covering that niche.  The key is your level of interest.  You don't have to be an expert, you don't have to be a guru, you just have to have a genuine interest in what you are writing about.  Anything that you do not know, you just have to have a willingness to learn and to do your research.  If you have a question then more than likely other people are also asking about the same thing, so provide a post with an answer.  Search engines will find your post, index it, and help drive traffic to your article by referring those people who want their question answered.

Once you have the traffic, now you can start making some money off of that traffic.  The key here is advertising.  The easiest way to start selling advertising on your site is to use Google Adsense.  It is 100% free and easy to use.  Google will display relevant ads on your site based on the content and you get paid when users click through those ads.  Google then sends you a check every month without you having to worry about getting paid from several different advertisers.  Once you start building up a readership you can also try selling direct ads or contextual ads to make even more money with your advertising. Moving past just straight advertising, you can try selling products on your site and get paid a % of the sale without having to worry about accepting payments, filling orders, or providing customer service.  This is the beauty of affiliate programs.

So much money can you make with your blog?  That question depends a lot on the amount of effort that you are willing to put in and the niche that you decide to cover.  Topics covering money and business do a lot better than ones that focus on low-cost items.  I've seen sites that generate over $150,000 per month, but realistically if you are willing to put in a few hours a day you could be making more than four digits per month in 8-12 weeks.  If you are lucky enough to earn enough money off of your blog that it becomes your full-time job, then you can start enjoying working from home.  The freedom it provides is unbeatable as you can set your own hours and be your own boss.

The key to making money on the Internet is to get started NOW, not waiting around for the perfect opportunity.
